Final design: shared-use path and nodes

In February 2022, following public consultation, the Minister for Planning and Local Government established a Linear Park along Adelaide’s coastline from Grange to Tennyson.

The established Linear Park will include a shared-use path between Terminus Street, Grange and Hillview Avenue, Tennyson.

The City of Charles Sturt, in collaboration with the Department for Housing and Urban Development, has decided to amend the design of Coast Park Stage Two.

Following a review of the existing design, planned enhancements along the Seaview Road shared path alignment, including associated streetscape improvements, were removed to prioritise investment in delivering a high-quality outcome for the Coast Park section between Terminus Street and Hillview Avenue. By focusing on the area south of Hillview Avenue, the project ensures a high-standard shared use path and surrounding public space which everyone can enjoy.

The sections of boardwalk and concrete path have been designed to follow the natural ground as closely as possible while minimising earthworks and reducing impacts on the dune system and native vegetation.
