Infrastructure schemes

Infrastructure schemes help to ensure that the infrastructure needed to service future urban development, such as new housing, is well-understood and planned for in-line with rezoning the land.

It is a legally binding planning tool for use between landowners, councils, infrastructure providers and developers, setting out what infrastructure and construction works are required to support a new housing community, how and when it will be delivered, and who pays for it.

The instruments published on this page have been adopted by the Minister for Planning.
