About this document
Under the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016, tree-damaging activity in relation to regulated and significant trees requires development approval. Regulation 3F of the Planning, Development and Infrastructure (General) Regulations 2017 allows the Minister to designate (by notice on the SA planning portal) species of trees that are exempt from regulated and significant tree protections. The notice may be of general or limited application, as well as make different provision in relation to a species according to the location of the tree.
