Seaton Code Amendment open for consultation

Published Tuesday, 4 November 2025

Community members are invited to have their say on proposed rezoning that will provide more housing options in Adelaide’s west.

The draft Seaton Code Amendment, which is now open for public consultation, proposes to rezone approximately 39 hectares of land within Seaton to the Urban Renewal Neighbourhood Zone.

If approved, the rezoning would enable a greater mix of housing types, including townhouses and apartments. It would also allow for taller buildings along key transport corridors and support upgrades to public spaces, improving connections to shops, schools and services.

The affected land is jointly owned by Renewal SA, the SA Housing Trust and private landowners.

The proposal aligns with the State Government’s Housing Roadmap, which is focused on delivering more homes, more quickly, and increasing housing choice and affordability for South Australians.

Consultation is open until 11:59 pm Tuesday 16 December 2025.

Community members, industry stakeholders and government agencies are encouraged to provide feedback to help shape the future of Seaton.
